History

The Kiwanis Club of Addison was chartered Wednesday, February 12, 1958. The sponsoring clubs were the Kiwanis Club of Elmhurst and the Kiwanis Club of Greater Elmhurst. The first president was Oscar E. Sather.

The first major undertaking of the Club was to investigate the establishment of a public library in the community of Addison.

Louis Restaurant was the meeting place of Kiwanis Club of Addison for many years and still holds fond memories for many Addison Club Kiwanians. Louis Restaurant was torn down and a beautiful reservoir pond was created in its place in 1995.
